It also means rescue organizations like Billy the Kidden Rescue are stepping up in a BIG way to save the most vulnerable lives. That’s why we’re so excited to invite you to our BTKR Kitten Shower + the Sand & Sea Meow’ket—a special event filled with rescue, community, shopping, and of course… cats 🐾 This event is more than just a celebration—it’s a way for our community to come together and help prepare for the busiest rescue season of the year.

What is a Kitten Shower?

Think of it like a baby shower… but for kittens 😻 Every spring and summer, shelters and rescues are flooded with orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable kittens needing around-the-clock care. Formula, bottles, heating pads, wet food, litter, medical care—it adds up fast. A Kitten Shower helps us stock up on the essentials needed to save lives before the flood of kittens arrives.

This is also your chance to get a closer look at Sand & Sea Cat Lounge—our beautiful new safe harbor for adoptable rescue cats right here in Virginia Beach. Billy the Kidden Rescue has partnered with Katie Cats Sims, owner of Sand & Sea Cat Lounge, to create a peaceful coastal space where guests can come relax, visit for a bit, and meet some of our adoptable kitties living in the lounge. Built with love and inspired by rescue cats like Tom-Tom, this space was designed to help cats heal, socialize, and hopefully meet their forever families.
